Secretariat For Virginia Announces New Documentary on YouTube!
The new documentary short film "Racing Home: Secretariat in Ashland," which made its debut on SECRETARIAT DAY in Ashland, Virginia, is posted on YouTube. Produced by Kathy Abbott with long-time collaborator Tom Wulf, the film traces the incredible journey of the stunning bronze monument "Secretariat Racing Into History" from the hands of acclaimed sculptor Jocelyn Russell to the heart of Ashland, Virginia.
And like our immortal champion, the monument has gone the distance: from the foundry in Oklahoma to the unveiling in Ashland to all the Triple Crown racetracks in 2023, and even the Governor's Mansion in Richmond, the sculpture and Jocelyn's crew racked up over 5,000 miles.
The monument was dedicated in Ashland on March 30, 2024, Secretariat's birthday, which is now celebrated every year around that timeframe.
The documentary was commissioned by Secretariat For Virginia in 2025.
